Hello, my name is Michael Netta. I was born and raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey. I attended Elizabeth High School from 1988 to 1992. I was a member of the varsity football team for 3 seasons, earning All-Union County honors my senior season. The sport of football has taught me very valuable lessons such as hard work, dedication and teamwork that I have applied throughout my subsequent endeavors. I am currently involved as a coach for the Springfield Minutemen football program in Springfield, NJ. In this role I am responsible for coaching youths from grades 4 to 8. I try to instill in them the fundamentals which I mentioned above so that they can apply the not only to the sport, but to other activities throughout their lives.
I am also currently pursuing a Masters in Business Administration from the Rutgers Graduate School of Management in Marketing & E-commerce. I hold a Bachelors of Science in Finance from Rutgers, where I graduated in 1997. Since this time I have furthered this functional discipline through my 3 1/2 years at the Prudential Insurance Company. My career goals are to continue to learn and develop new skill to be a more valuable contributor. For this reason, I am pursuing an MBA in 2 different interests so that I can broaden my business knowledge. My ultimate goal is to either someday run a business, my own or a division of a company, or to be in charge of strategic planning. I feel in order to someday accomplish these goals, I need to be as knowledgeable as I can about all aspects of business.
As mentioned earlier I am involved in coaching a youth football program. However, during the 2000 season I was also voted in as President of its booster program. Through various efforts there I was able to sharpen my business acumen an apply some of the theories and techniques I have learned in school, while also further developing my leadership abilities. I have also had the opportunity to assist entrepreneurs of Internet businesses in analyzing their company. (You can read about my experience with manufininish.com in the employment history section of this web.) I am also serving as an advisor for a pre-funded Internet company named cyberopen.com. My responsibilities here are rather undefined, but I have been assisting the founder in identifying potential investors and employees.
From this section you can garner that I am very interested in businesses that integrate the Internet into their business models. I feel that the internet, via home, work or wireless connection is the future of business and the more experience I can gain within these businesses then the more valuable I will be in the future.
